Waste on every level and those with no common sense are taking care of the children.  The proposed premise for school breakfasts, of course, is nutrition for the children and the reduced cost for struggling parents who are stretching the food budget.

Playing God

In the many dissatisfied comments about "Obamacare," we need to realize, it's been years since health care was actually about the patient.  The tragic account reported in the link below is only one problem and it took place long before most of this country even knew there was a Barrack Obama.  Check the dates in the reports.

Hospitals do not work for the patient.  They work to keep their big business corporation in "not for profit" tax status.  I realize there is a big debate especially amidst those of us with religious convictions about modern medicine.  So for those who think it's an awesome gift of wisdom from our Creator, that's not my understanding of Scripture at all.

Regardless of where you stand on the argument, this woman's life has been forever changed and she can't get a straight answer. The G-d of Holy Scripture doesn't hide behind "pseudo-protection policies" and legal loopholes!

Too Late to Pawn America

Remember the song, "This Land is Your Land, this Land is My Land" . . .?  Apparently members of Congress don't.  Considering the fact that this land was stolen from the inhabitants that revered the privilege allowed by their Creator, I don't understand how anyone of any party could consider selling it in all good conscience, but then . . . perhaps it's the good conscience that has already been sold.

I'm not a Florida Republican, but in all fairness to the current politicians of both ilks, this idea of selling the land or giving it for development may not be so "far fetched" and foreign as those who are offended would feign.  After all, that is exactly how this country was founded.

It does seem that ideas get "thrown out," then "thrown around," then some are legislated without further mention, while others are tabled for a time, but once any idea has been thought about, much less spoken before a group, it is an idea that has take root somewhere.

What Have We Become?

Where will it go from here?  In the "glitch" with EBT cards we saw some startling images in the news feeds.  That was just a small glitch that didn't really even involve hungry people.  Granted tension was high with our government shut down, but as far as I can tell, the only thing that was really shut down were the parks and memorials.  Everyone got their "I paid into it check" and their "I need it benefits."  So, what happened and what is to come?

As I viewed these images, I got a really sick feeling.  What if the glitch was more than a glitch, regardless of accidental or intentional?  What if the programs ceased?  When did we become a society of entitlement beyond need?  And this is clearly an indication of that very notion.  Was it panic that prompted those shoppers to take hundreds of dollars worth of food they knew was not paid for?  Was it fear that the glitch was permanent?  Or was it simply an opportunity to take advantage?  I can't see their hearts, but our Creator does not condone theft.

It almost seems the cards and programs have taken the reality out of begging and in some cases, the shame out of laziness.  Unfortunately, this could again be a reality, in a few months, on a wider scale.

Concern for the Children

Although this paragraph is rather vague as to the agenda beyond "listening post," I would like to remind our readers, we do not need our politicians to raise our children.  If our politicians feel the need to involve themselves in our children's lives, they could start by setting a good example of work ethics and honesty . . .

We've set a date for our listening post for those with comments on Children's Services. On Tuesday the 8th of October at the Pineville Community Center starting at 9:00 a.m. we will have several hours to hear from area folks. I am asking anyone who wishes to speak to call my office at the Capitol and ask Elaine to put you on the agenda. Because we expect there to be several folks who wish to speak, we will limit times to 5 minutes each so that everyone has a chance to express their opinions. The number is 573-751-9801. I would like for there to be time for questions as well, but we'll just have to see. I intend to hold more than one meeting in the district and I am working on arrangements to hold one in Seneca also.

When I read this paragraph, I just couldn't get the image of the man in Illinois being escorted out of a Town Hall meeting, out of my mind.  Then reading about his subsequent arrest was truly embarrassing, as an American.  Now the charges were dropped, but I remember the man's face as he looked around at the other parents, trying to get them to stand up for their rights as parents and protect their children.  I also remember the expression of intimidation on the security guard who ended up being an off duty police man.

I cannot imagine how parents of school aged children even try to teach them to respect our representatives, our teachers, or our law enforcement.  I guess I'd have to at least attempt to explain the old adage, "respect your elders . . . but."

Lamenting Our Water Supply

We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.  Lamentations 5:4
This Scripture used to really bother me when I read it, because I simply could not imagine such a thing here in the USA.  How ridiculous was that naivety?  I was paying a water bill at the time!  Then within the next decade, small water bottles became the norm.  We pay more by the gallon, for water in those little bottles than we do for gasoline.  Now, that this prophecy is coming to fulfillment in so many ways, I am literally reduce to tears over the fact.  We have "sold out" our very water supply for sorcery and greed!

I'm no scientist, but I can tell you, as the people are being divided by accusations over fracking or chemtrails, there are detrimental things happening.  When there have been record years of drought, to the point cattle are dying and towns are out of water, to even entertain the thought of using water for any purpose beyond sustaining life, is at the very least, ridiculous.  I'm leaning more toward the use of the word, evil.  Obviously, the love of money is the driving force behind fracking.

I can also tell you this.  Jet's are not powered by steam engines.  Jet fuel is not made of water, so any jet emissions are chemical in nature.  Chemical emissions do not require any conspiracy of nefarious intention at all, but it is still chemicals put into our atmosphere.  If aerosol hair spray and deodorant put a hole in the O-Zone, then it's time time to evaluate the potential damage from all this air travel, to the future rains we hope and pray to have.

Whether it's greed or speed, the action we are taking and the decisions being made are and will continue to affect our water supply, and the cost; thereof.
