Very Troubling

When I first read about this case, I was saddened, then I got a little mad!  I just do not know what this Christian School is thinking.  First the little girl may have some rejection issues, as she's adopted.  I'm not saying all adopted children have issues, but the fact that she has been adopted by her grandparents does indicate a serious loss or breakdown in family dynamics.  Technically, at some point little Sunnie Kahle should have been considered to have the status of an orphan, according to the New Testament.

I saw the video of the little girl and although she's not the image of femininity, how many of us are?  She does have an "ambisextrous" name, which I think should be taken into consideration by the school officials as well.  Clearly the little girl could have used some encouragement.  Now the troubling part for me, was the Grandma's comments how the little girl cries every morning because she misses her school and friends.  With the religious school rejecting her, just who will be reaching out to her for acceptance?  In all the rhetoric about gender issues and recruitment, it would seem this school threw the little girl to exactly what they claim to be against!  She's a little girl.  Where's the Christian compassion and encouragement?

Now, on the other hand, we have Jazz.  Here is another video that I also found disturbing and I truly have to ask after seeing these side by side.  What are we doing to our children?
